Shopify SEOPet World — SEO Audit & Search Recovery
- The Challenge
- The store scored 54% overall in a Smart SEO audit. Product pages were the weak point at 45%, with none of the audited pages rated good: most of the 123 products were published without a focus keyword, with unfocused titles and thin meta descriptions. Collections sat at 54% and articles at 54%, and the SEO app itself was flagged as not fully integrated, so fixes were not reaching the live store. A full catalogue was barely visible to Google.
- The Strategy
- I audited every content type the store had — 123 products, 11 collections, 1 blog, 3 articles and 7 pages — to find exactly where the score was being lost. Then I gave each product a focus keyword, rewrote titles and meta descriptions around the terms buyers actually search, closed the app integration gap so metadata renders on the live pages, and split the sitemap submission so products, collections, pages and blog posts are each handed to Google separately.
- The Result
- Google Search Console accepted all five sitemaps with a 'Success' status and discovered 147 pages: 124 products, 11 collections, 7 pages and 4 blog posts. The entire catalogue is now crawlable and eligible to rank instead of a handful of stray pages — the precondition for organic search traffic to build at all.
